Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Taking this opportunity, I’d like to greet everyone with the upcoming feast of the Protection of All Holy Theotokos.

September was a busy month, with many services and many events. We successfully started the beginning of our Saturday and Sunday school year. We began our newly established Cathedral Children’s Choir under the guidance of Zoe Turton and Ganna Semenova. Subdeacon Andrey Aristov is working on the schedule of altar servers. All of these programs need our support and prayers for their success. Let’s wish this program’s participants success in this undertaking.

The Sisterhood organized a successful cleaning of the church building.

As you know, the last concert of the month was a concert dedicated to the work of George and Ira Gershwin performed by Ganna Sorbat Trio, successfully organized by our Fundraising Committee under the leadership of Liana Vertelkina. I would like to thank you all for your hard work and your participation for the benefit of our God-beloved parish.

I want to draw your attention to our undertaking regarding installation of a video surveillance system. As you can see from our Treasurer’s report, we are almost there. However we still need $4,800 to meet our goal.

The month of October is promising to be just as active. In the middle of October the Diocese of the West will be holding its annual Diocesan Assembly in Portland, OR. I will be representing our parish at this annual gathering and will be reporting to you about it in my next report.

Also I want to bring your attention to the fact that I was asked to travel to Moscow on September 24th-29th to assist with some work on behalf of Orthodox Church in America, at St. Katherine Representation Church in Moscow. For all urgent pastor needs, I ask you to contact Fr. Yousef Rassam at (818)881-1123 and (714)308-6778.

At the end of October, with God’s blessing, I am planning to lead a small group of our parishioners on a 10-day pilgrimage to Mount Athos. We are planning to visit many monasteries and hope to participate in the Divine Services of the Holy Mountain. If you wish to prepare commemoration slips for me to take along on our journey to the Holy Mountain, please either pass them on to me or send them via mail to my attention with a specific note.

On October 15th we are planning to have our Semi-annual meeting. In order to participate in this meeting you do not have to be a dues-paying voting member. Everybody is encouraged to participate.

I ask for your holy prayers for me and my family. As before I’m available via mobile phone (818)213-7176 and via email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

God Save You All!
